Role: Judge
On 12 January 2025, I had the privilege of serving as a judge for the SDG Startup Challenge Competition held at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The competition aimed to encourage students to propose startup ideas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As a judge, I evaluated the students’ startup ideas based on guidelines such as their effectiveness in addressing SDG-related issues, innovation, feasibility, and the quality of their presentations. The students showcased remarkable creativity with proposals ranging from renewable energy solutions to green technology and social innovation.
This event provided an important platform for students to raise awareness of global challenges and hone their skills in developing sustainable solutions. The interactive discussions with participants further enhanced their understanding and offered valuable feedback to refine their ideas.
I was deeply inspired by the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants. This competition not only fostered innovation but also empowered young minds to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development goals.
