PROFESIONAL
FIELD OF EXPERTISE: PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY, NANOBIOTECHNOLOGY, BIOENTREPRENEURSHIP, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
I am a dedicated professional with extensive expertise in agribusiness, plant biotechnology, nanotechnology and bioentrepreneurship. My academic career spans eight years at the University of Manchester, where I earned a first class BSc in Biotechnology (Enterprise) and a PhD in Plant Sciences, funded by Biasiswa Yang di-Pertuan Agong. For the past 9 years, I have been a dedicated senior lecturer of Universiti Putra Malaysia, where I have been directly involved in designing bachelor and taught master's curricula, teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and supervising final-year, master's, and PhD students. My research endeavours have led 5 research projects, secured over RM 500,000 in competitive grants and resulted in more than 20 journal publications, including 14 high-impact papers. I have demonstrated impactful leadership as Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Biotechnology with Bioentrepreneurship and as Coordinator for Graduate Employability & Entrepreneurship, where I helped strengthen academic quality and enhance student career readiness. I have actively contributed to the faculty and university through numerous committee positions and leadership roles. I am actively engaged in community and industry relations, participating in school outreach, student empowerment, and environmental conservation initiatives. I have collaborated with organizations like Bioeconomy Corporation, SME Bank, Cradle Fund, SSM, MyIPO, NPRA, MABIC, MTDC and many more. I have attended over 15 international and local conferences and participated in more than 40 professional trainings. My international linkages include research with the University of Manchester and NIAB, UK, and teaching collaborations with Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, and Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia. Committed to fostering knowledge, educating future generations, and addressing food security and environmental sustainability, I am confident in my ability to contribute significantly to my institution.
