Syahmeer How received his Ph.D degree from Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand, in the field of particle breakdown and mass transport of aroma during mastication of foods. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Process and Food Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia, where he teaches and conducts research in the field of process modelling and simulation. His research interests include the application of chemical engineering principles to underlying fluid, heat, and mass transfer, as well as chemical/biochemical reactions. His research has applications in mastication/oral processing and food processing".
