Dr. Rohasliney Hashim mendapat Ijazah Sarjana Muda Sains (Kepujian) dalam jurusan Biologi Gunaan dan minor dalam bidang Pengurusan dari Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Beliau kemudiannya melanjutkan pelajaran ke Sarjana Sains dalam jurusan Biologi Akuatik di universiti yang sama. Beliau kemudiannya mendapat Ph.D. dalam Pengurusan Perikanan dari Mississippi State University, Amerika Syarikat. Pada tahun 2005, beliau bekerja di Pusat Pengajian Sains Kesihatan, Universiti Sains Malaysia, sebagai Pensyarah Kanan. Beliau Kemudiaannya berpindah ke Fakulti Perhutanan dan Alam Sekitar, Universiti Putra Malaysia, pada tahun 2013. Penyelidikan beliau berkaitan dengan pemantauan biologi ekosistem akuatik, yang memfokuskan pada ikan, plankton, dan makroinvertebrata sebagai petunjuk untuk kualiti air ekosistem akuatik.
