Profesor Madya Dr. Ooi Peck Toung memperoleh Doktor Perubatan Veterinar (DVM) dari Universiti Putra Malaysia pada tahun 2002, kemudian beliau meneruskan pengajian PhD di Universiti Glasgow, United Kingdom. Beliau telah berkhidmat di Fakulti Perubatan Veterinar, Universiti Putra Malaysia selama 18 tahun, aktif dalam pengajaran dan penyelidikan dalam topik yang berkaitan dengan perubatan khinzir.
