Professor Gazi Mahabubul Alam, PhD, FRSA is an internationally recognised Public Policy Analyst with an especial focus to Higher Education and Skills Development. Countries of his work experience include Malaysia, Bangladesh, UK, Canada, China and the USA. He works for both the Institute of Higher Education and Partner for Development.
Before joining the Faculty of Educational Studies, University Putra Malaysia (UPM), he was a professor at the department of Economics, East West University (EWU). Alam also served as a Professor of Public Policy and Chief Consultant at the Academic Performance Enhancement Unit, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. In 2010, Alam received full professorship from the UM. Prior to joining the UM, he worked as a policy specialist (skills) at the International Labour Organisation (ILO). He is also currently involved with Chengdu University, Sichuan, China.
Alam acquired an MA in International Education and Development from the University of Sussex and a PhD from the University of Nottingham. He received a distinguished fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts.
He has published a number of papers and they received a notable amount of citations. His recent contributions are included in some high ranked journals such as Higher Education-Springer, Comparative Education Review (CER) -University of Chicago, International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education-Emerald, Education 3-13 - Taylor and Francis, Higher Education, Skills and Work-Based Learning-Emerald, Technological Forecasting and Social Change-Elsevier, Technology in Society-Elsevier, Education and Urban Society-Sage, International Journal of Educational Reforms-Sage, Journal of Business Research-Elsevier, International Journal of Comparative Education and Development-Emerald, Business Process Management Journal-Emerald.
