On the way to Shrifa, Lebanon.
These pictures are real dirt-and-grime post-war, fresh wounds, bombed-out homes, cluster-bombs kind of pictures- taken during my NGO (Aman Malaysia) mission to TYRE, South Lebanon with some additional pics taken in predominantly Hezbollah stronghold of SOUTH BEIRUT, both of which were specifically targetted by Israeli forces.
3 other members of the team are Dr. Abd. Halim (O&G GP), Dr. Norshinah (Endocrinologist) and Mr. Sockalingam (Assistant Medical Officer). Mukhriz Mahathir & 2-3 assistants of AMAN MALAYSIA, were the first to reach Lebanon, barely days after the fragile yet highly risky Israeli-Hezbollah ceasefire, to look into the logistics and accomodation (if any) for us; only after that were we given the " green light" to go start our humanitarian relief (via Syria).
Beirut Airport was bombed by Israel and badly damaged and thus was closed to all flights.
We sincerely and deeply hope to continue helping in any humanitarian mission in the future.
