Dr Samsul Bahari Mohd Noor is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UPM. He graduated from University of Warwick in Electronic Engineering and obtained his MSc and PhD in Control Engineering from Sheffield University, UK.

He was the Head of IT unit, Head of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department and Deputy Dean (Development and Finance) of the Engineering Faculty, Director of Occupational Safety and Heatlh Management Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and Director of Development and Asset Management Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Currently he is the Head of Control System and Signal Processing (CSSP) research group in the department. He has been invited by the Ministry of Human Resources to develop the National Occupational Skill Standard for Process Control. He has led a few researches on Intelligent Control of Grain Dryer, Satellite Control, and Optimal and Intelligent Control of Chemical Processes, apart from being a member of research groups related to instrumentation and control.

He has supervised 6 PhD, 16 MSc directly under his supervision together with 8 PhD and 20 MSc as co-supervisors and more than 70 undergraduate students. He is now supervising 3 Phd and 1 MSc students as the main supervisor and co-supervising 10 PhD and 1 MSc students. He published 33 articles in cited Journals, 30 articles in cited conferences (Scopus/IEEExplore), 24 refereed Journals, 49 refereed conferences and co-authored 1 book.

He has been awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Mulia – Peringkat Ketiga Setia Mahkota Pahang (SMP), by the DYMM Sultan Pahang on his birthday in Oktober 2010.
