I am Gs. Dr. Junainah Abu Kasim, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Design and Architecture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). With over a decade of professional experience as a Senior Town Planner at Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), I specialized in urban spatial planning, green infrastructure strategies, and sustainable land management.

My academic and research focus lies at the intersection of urban planning, landscape architecture, and geospatial technologies—specifically in areas such as green space conservation, urban heat mitigation, and resilient city design. I am deeply passionate about advocating for nature-based solutions, participatory GIS (PGIS) approaches, and spatial analytics to improve the quality and sustainability of urban landscapes.

I have been recognized for my contributions to geospatial innovation and sustainable development, and am committed to advancing the role of landscape architecture in shaping more inclusive, resilient, and climate-responsive urban environments.
