Dr Hani Syahida Salim

Dr Hani is a Family Medicine Specialist and a Senior Lecturer in at the Department of Family Medicine, UPM. Hani is currently pursuing a PhD in Global Health at the University of Edinburgh, where she received studentships from the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Respiratory Health (RESPIRE). She is working on a tailored asthma self-management intervention for people with low health literacy.
Her research expertise is around the management of non-communicable disease, particularly chronic respiratory disease such as asthma and COPD. Health literacy and self-management are her focus in many of these respiratory researches. Hani’s other areas of research which she is interested in include medical education, ehealth and behaviour change strategies. She is also interested in research methodologies such as arts-based qualitative method, implementation researches, systematic & narrative reviews.
