Dr. Ahmad Ainuddin Nuruddin, is currently the Deputy Director of the Institute of Forestry Research and Forest Products, Universiti Putra Malaysia and also an Associate Professor in Forest Fire Management and Forest Microclimatology at the Faculty of Forestry, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He graduated from fully residential school, Perlis Science Secondary School (now renamed as Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Syed Putra). He obtained B.S. and M.S. from Ohio University, Ohio, USA and Doctor of Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas, USA. His main research interest is forest fire and forest microclimatology. Currently he is active in forest fire, montane cloud forest and forest carbon research. He is currently a member of Institut Rimbawan Malaysia (IRIM) and deputy coordinator for 8.01.10 – Forest fires IUFRO. He is also a certified arborist of the International Society of Arboriculture
