Dr. Ruthpackiavathy A/P Rajen Durai
PhD (UPM Malaysia), MN (Monash Uni Australia), BN (Flinders Uni Australia), SCM (MOH),
DipNurs (MOH)

She is a senior lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM. Her former employment was in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1995-2018) and Ministry of Health, Malaysia (1983-1995). Her experiences as a registered nurse are in Medical/Surgical Nursing, Cardiothoracic Nursing, Accident & Emergency Nursing, Eye Nursing and Gynaecology Nursing. She has teaching experience to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, is actively involved in mental health and obstetrics and gynaecology activities. She involves her students in a variety of client and research-based activities that provide challenging and professional experiences which demonstrates the importance of research for evidence-based practice in nursing. As an academic member she is active in conducting research related to nursing using several methodologies including interventional studies.
