In a vibrant showcase of scientific spirit, four lecturers from the Chemistry Department of Universiti Putra Malaysia, in collaboration with the Chemistry Department under MOSTI, is gearing up for an exciting National Science Week this May 2024. Expect a series of engaging activities including quizzes, lectures, and competitions designed to educate and inspire, with a staggering projection of over 110,000 participants!

Biodiversity and Biotechnology

First up is the Biodiversity and Biotechnology Quiz on May 11, led by Dr. Mohd Rashidi Abdull Manap. This 20-minute online challenge aims to foster environmental awareness and appreciation for the vital roles of biodiversity and biotechnology.

Environmental Science

From May 16-19, join Prof. Madya Dr. Siti Nurul Ain Md. Jamil for the Environmental Science Quiz. Delivered online via Google Form, this initiative uses quizzes and lectures to deepen understanding of environmental issues across all ages.

The Duo Science Talk Challenge

From April 10 to May 10, students can submit entries showcasing their science communication skills. Judging runs from May 13-23, with winners announced on May 30 via a YouTube link shared on the National Science Week's website. Dr. Ruzniza Mohd Zawawi spearheads this innovative contest.

Green Dream Competition: Youth Action 2.0

Championed by Prof. Madya ChM. Dr. Norizah Abdul Rahman, this competition aims to mold environmentally conscious youth through projects that emphasize the 3Rs—reduce, reuse, and recycle. Open to high school students aged 13-17, registration begins April 1, with project submissions due by May 27.
