Ts. Dr. Mohd Zairul bin Mohd Noor works in the UPM Serdang Faculty of Architecture's Department of Architecture as a Technologist, Graduate Architect, and Senior Lecturer. In 2022, he was appointed as the head of the Cyber Generation Lab at IPSAS, UPM, as well as the secretary for green initiatives on the UPM campus under a new committee named Campus Outlook and Smart Ecosystem (COSE), where he will oversee all green initiatives in Serdang and Bintulu campus. He earned his PhD in Built Environment Management from TU Delft, a top university in the Netherlands, where he proposed a new business model for affordable housing in Malaysia. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Strathclyde for a semester in 2018. (Glasgow, UK). He is a renowned housing researcher, business model developer, and housing for young starters, as well as a building materials technologist. He has over 20 publications, including SCOPUS-indexed Q1 journals Open House International (OHI) and Journal of Housing and the Built Environment (JOHO). He has received FRGS grant in 2017 and has recently working on a TRGS grant of RM650,000. He is also a member of the editorial boards of several notable journals, including MDPI (Buildings), Journal of Housing and the Built Environment, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, and others. He obtained numerous accolades at UPM over the course of three years, including best paper awards, top publication, copyright award, teaching, and best service award. On his own creation teaching module and research workshops, he has led over 200 courses internationally, including in Indonesia, the Philippines, and India. He currently supervises eight PhD students and eight master's students who are working on a wide range of topics in the built environment and elsewhere. Internationally, he has a great reputation as one of the prominent scholars in the Architects International Union and being called to several webinars with Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia and Philippines.
